Primary Modern Languages

Really getting excited now about this ICT & MFL weekend!

This year’s programme offers a wide range of session with the emphasis very much on ‘hands-on’ workshops.   Delegates can choose their workshops and sessions to meet their individual needs, and will have lots of opportunity to really get to grips with the new ideas being demonstrated – and share good practice in a nurturing environment.

This event is renowned for its friendly and supportive atmosphere, and everyone will find a full range of workshops and seminars to suit their needs.  Whilst many sessions have an ICT focus, there are plenty of other sessions which serve to exemplify many aspects of creative and inspiring MFL teaching and learning.

Using iOs android Apps for interactive learning, iTunes, Podcasts and other for personalised learning, designing an MFL App, ‘Animating’ grammar. peer and self assessment through mobile technology

Making the most of Web 2.0 Technologies
A range of workshops to showcase how to get the best learning from Web 2,0 tools such as exploring Google Apps, using Tarzia, Vocaroo, and Voicethread to name but a few.

The Global classroom
Developing and using international links effectively, eTwinning, using authentic materials, developing ICU through online resources, setting up a WIKI to promote your department, using Edmodo, the changing face of CPD

Developing Speaking
Explore ways to develop pupils speaking skills through social media, on line tools, A level debating ideas, recording methods and more

Closing the gap
Way to support SEN students using technology, supporting speech and language development, promoting Solo taxonomy, developing Maths skills through MFL, understanding the learning process, subtitling for learning

Show and Tell
The conference will also include the usual free ‘Show and Tell’ event on Saturday evening – kindly hosted this year by Televic Education. This soiree encourages everyone to showcase good ideas and fun activities for the classroom.  This is a much more informal gathering of colleagues, always great fun and a good chance to network

Language World 2012, 30-31 March, University of Manchester: Languages for All – Defining Today, Transforming Tomorrow!

Language World 2012, the annual conference organized by ALL, the Association for Language Learning, will take place this year at the  University of Manchester, Sackville Street Campus, 30 – 31 March.

Language World is THE professional development event for language teachers in the UK: two days of non-stop CPD, updates, ideas and inspiration; an exhibition with all the latest resources, services and equipment and a chance to share and learn with colleagues from all over the country. It is also the opportunity to be part of your subject community and contribute to the future of language teaching and learning!

The Programme has something for everyone: a Language World debate panel, a fantastic range of workshops and major talks as well as show & tell sessions, giving you a change to contribute directly.
